I didn’t realise Dropbox could have control over these folders that I assumed were just on my Mac! I’ve lost everything including projects I’ve spent so much time on. Dropbox doesn’t even have a customer service phone number - I assume because they know they’d have so many complaints. I’ve been on the phone to Apple for 2 hours, but they couldn’t help in the end as it’s a third party app. I’ve been into my Dropbox account online and none of my files are on there or on the ‘deleted’ folder. ![]() It turns out that those folders were linked to Dropbox and uninstalling the program also removed every single file from my laptop. Very quickly, I realised all of my downloads and documents were gone from my Mac. Dropbox was taking up a lot of space but I checked the folder and it didn’t seem to have anything important in, so I deleted the program. Recently, I needed to clear some space on my Mac. I downloaded Dropbox a few years ago to keep some photos in.
